Ingredients

  • 280g syrup
  • 450g flour
  • 1 tbsp ground Ginger
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 225g brown sugar
  • 170g margarine
  • 280ml Milk
  • 1 egg

Method

  1. Mix the dry ingredients
  2. Warm he sugar, fat an syrup but do not allow to become too hot
  3. Warm the milk and beat the egg
  4. Combine all the ingredients
  5. Crease tin and line the bottom
  6. Bake at 160 degrees for 1 hour
